Mic works for skype or any other IM but not in Steam games?

My mic works perfect on Skype, but when I enter a steam game, the push to talk doesn't work, no one can hear me, I went to steam settings and Voice to test my mic, all the bars light up to max, but I can't hear myself?

My setup is Tt eSPORTS SHOCK headset, (Which I only use the mic) And then I Have headphones plugged in which are AUX, the mic is USB. The set up was working a while, then I guess when I took my computer to a friends house and back, thats when it stopped working. Being a CSGO competitve player this sucks! If anyone could help me with this that be great.

Rightclick the speaker symbol in your TNA, click "Recording devices" and set the headset as default.

What "it"? Your headset? It doesn't have to be default, it does have to be standard.

My headset is at default in Recording devices, in playback devices my Headphones are default and headset is default communation device.

Did you check out the advanced settings of the microphone? Maybe you have to turn the recording level higher.

Well like, When I go to steam settings and click voice, it shows the mic as the default setting and when I click to test and speak into it. The bar lights up but I don't hear anything.

I don't mean the Steam setting, I mean the Windows setting.

I had this problem. Just have the skype options open as you play and it should solve it.
