Modern Warfare 2 orginal cd key problem?? pls HELP!!

hey guys i am wondering why can't i install my original call of duty modern warfare 2 on my pc.
The problem is in cd key, i have been already install that game two years ago and after a while i deleted it. Now i want to reinstall it but they says to me that produt code has already been activated by an existing steam account so i don't get it. i'm using the same steam account as before.
It woud be so stupid if you can install game only once and if you want to reinstall it you cant??

Well, it's NOT on the account you used for making the posting (unless you've mistyped things -- you have a "call of duty whatever 3", not a "2").

The key might still help support to find your other account.

i think i understand, but the problem is i do not remember the other account if I eaven had it. The only thing i know is the cd key i used. i'll try to send them a message if they can help me

You can only use a Cd-key once. From then on forward it's used up and locked to an account and can never be used again on Steam.
