Missing Plugin in Steam window
My Steam window no long plays videos on any of the game sales, pages.

Flash is installed in the default directory, Win 7 64 bit, up to date as of 2/8/2014 and videos play in my FireFox brower. I've also disconnect Steam and restarted several times. Some reason Steam just seems unable acknowledge Flash drivers are installed and working.

I've tried googling, Steam "missing plugin", but most just tell you install Flash, is there some way to make Steam repair itself, like deleting the cache when Save games break?

Thanks

Thanks for the tip Spoof, sadly it didn't seem to help.

All my Steam works fine except no videos play while using the Steam window. I haven't updated my video drivers, so I'm guessing it's not a driver related conflict with Flash.

Just tried another fresh install of the newest Flash. Looked in my System32 and SysWOW64 of my Windows/.../Macromed/Flash folders.

I noticed that the FlashUtil64_12_0_0_44_Plugin is in the 32 bit folder and FlashUtil32_12_0_0_44_Plugin is in the 64 bit folder, does that sound backwards to anyone else?

If anyone is experienced with Flash, would it be safe to make sure the 64 and 32 folders both have all the same files? I.e putting both 64 bit and 32 bit files in both folders.

Thanks

It's still how it works, I only have Other Browsers, since I use Firefox not IE.

I've heard, Protected Mode in the Flash config can cause some issues. I really don'y want to disable it with all the hacking. Especially since this newest release has a major vulnerability fix.

so you cant test that for a few seconds?

hacking is pretty rare and steam is pretty legit just dont watch your pron when you do it.

make sure you restart everything after changing a setting.

I might try it but, if it fixes it then I would still be left with leaving it, plus it would open up vulnerabilities in my normal browsing all the time. :(

thats all beside the point you first identify the problem.
I can google you a 100 things and you had the answer all the time maybe , just seems very silly to me.
for me anything goes to track down an issue.

I can come up with many solutions to have both.
hope I dont forget them.

No help disabling ProtectedMode.

Just testing to see if it's the problem seems fine, leaving ProtectedMode disabled is too risky for me.

Thanks

yeah I did not enable it on any system I manage.
they get hacked so often :P..... right.
but nobody said not to turn it on again.

any other security thing that might have an impact on this?
does not have to be flash.
I doubt this has anything to do with flash or steam.

just to be sure are you in big picture mode?

Now days attacks are automated, of course ignoring Flash vulnerabilities is a choice, lucky Adobe chooses to close, as do I. :p

I sort of doubt it has anything to do with security, too. As I mentioned it was just a setting I had read/heard caused potential issues based on a Protection mode, iirc UAC has similar issues.

I guess "Refresh Your Steam Files" is how your clearing Steam. Flash and Steam have worked together in the past, plus Flash still works on all systems, except Steam. Steam must be at least part of the issue.

I'll might try reverting back to a streamlined Flash like 10.3.183.90, which only has base features.

Thanks
