Downloading Steam Workshop Files Locally?

Is there some way to download a workshop mod for a game (in this case Skyrim) locally or through Google Chrome or even a software that will do it. I need a certain mod that is only available on Steam Workshop. I don't want to download this mod straight to my Skyrim folder and I would like add it to a mod installer like NMM. Please help me, thank you!

I'm not sure if there's a way to request the files other than through Steam, but if there isn't (which is what I'd suspect), you could try just subscribing, making a copy, and unsubscribing. Then you can add the copy to the mod manager yourself.
