Locked out of Steam Market

Apparently, since I added a new card to my account 5 days ago, I'm locked out of using the Community Market for another 5 days. I added $50 without knowing this from the card, and now I have no way to buy anything.

I sent in a ticket demanding a refund, but I was curious if I add further funds from my PayPal account, will I be able to use said funds since that payment method has been on my account for years?

Market and Trade Restrictions are automatic and not removable. You must wait.

While you cannot spend the money on the Market, you can still spend the money on the Steam Store, so the 50 dollars is not completely useless for the time being.

As a side note, new payment methods are only 7 day restrictions.

These restrictions are to help protect Steam and the Users of the Steam Community Market from payment fraud and during account theft.

I get it, but they do not communicate this to you AT ALL during checkout. It's a complete joke, especially for someone who has purchased 330+ games and has been a member for nearly 9 years.

I agree that Steam should at the very least put a warning note when adding wallet funds about using new payment methods and how that triggers 7 day restrictions. What would be nice is if it would trigger if you try to use a new method, a warning pop up telling you that it is a new method and you will be restricted if you use it. Possibly at the last page during the confirmation of your payment.

same problem dudes wanted to sell my hyper beast while it was $50 but 7 day wait, new maps came out decreased to $35! not happy

Ok well I understand the Idea of this but why didnt it lock me out of the market ONCE I changed passwords? I was still able to buy quite a few things on the market hours after I changed passwords.

Because changing password doesn't give you any cooldowns?

Resetting it does.

Ok but why didnt it lock me out of the market ONCE I reset my password? Also I dont care if its old it is still relevant to my questions and issues today.

Considering first you say change and then you say reset. I'm not sure you know what the difference is.

What are you even restricted for? What does it say when you hover your mouse over the [Sell an Item] -button?

Why didn't you make your own thread?
