Steam showing wrong location for me.
I went to login for the first time in 7 months due my pc not working. I have different parts now so I assumed that when it told me it didn't recognize my pc/browser it was because every part of
my pc is different now except the hard drive and dvd rom drive. It then told me to verify my
location so I began the process thinking it was just going to ask me to match the location with
a question or something then when it shows me my location and the location of the last
attempted login it says Tukwila,WA for both instead of Chehalis,WA which is my actual location
and gives a completely different IP than what mine actually is. Should I be concerned or is this
just the new location detection software being a special?

First of all, the location of an IP address isn't particulary accurate -- considering it's the same state I wouldn't worry. You should be concerned if you're in the states and Steam thinks you're in China :-)

Second, what IS your address? Something like 192.168.x.y or 10.x.y.z? Steam sees the address of our "outside connection", whereas there might be different addresses in your LAN.

Ah I see. Thank You for the info. I read something about locations doing that and just wanted to be sure. Second part makes sense now as well. =)
