Internet error on one account

Alright so i tried connecting to steam and it showed the regular internet connection error
i tried to fix it using the regular internet error fixing things but when it didin't work the 15th time i decided to see if it will let me connect on a different account

and to my surprise it did and not only with my second account but with other freinds who tried it on my mac it was wierd and extremely annoying

so if you've had this error before and managed to fix plz tell me

My wife is having the same issue. We are on the same network, OBVIOUSLY with a good connection and I am on my Steam account now. She was able to log in on the web, but her client is being stupid.

same problem logged in to my gf account to see if that worked and it works my own main account is not working, when i go to my profile it says no profile created, steam is really f-u-c-k-i-n-g up right now

Well, I was able to log into my main in the in-browser Steam Community thing, but now my main account doesn't even show up as an account. When I try to log in, it tells me that I don't have the right password (even though I logged in with it a few minutes ago). It's like a ghost account now. And now, I just lost connection to Steam Client on this account. Too afraid to try and log back in.

Same issue here. I can log in to Steam Community on Firefox, but I can't log into the client.
Tested on my alt, it can log in just fine.
On a side note, when I log in through Steam Community, it still shows me (the main) as offline. Not sure why.
I tried:

• Restarting the computer
  
• Disengaging and reengaging the ethernet cable
  
• Deleting ClientRegistry.blob
  
• Deleting the entire Steam folder, except SteamApps, Userdata, and Steam.exe
  
• Trying to log in on a separate machine

Nothing helped, don't do any of those.
I put in a support ticket, hopefully they respond soon.
By the way, does anyone else have the exact time as to when you disconnected? From my chat logs, I was disconnected and unable to log back in from roughly 3:24 PM Central American Time onwards. Anyone want to try to match the times up?

Inb4 someone tripped over a database server power plug

Perhaps it's a hacker attack, randomly deleting Steam users. In that case, I guess Valve will have to roll back the database to a couple days ago.

Son is having the same issue. My account is not. I'm wondering if it had something to do with him being in the middle of a game when steam crashed. His friend he was playing with has the same issue. So far very disappointed in steam support on this.

Lots of people are having this problem especially with multiple accounts where one can connect and one cant. Dont hold your breath if you send an ticket to steam support. Unless you're asking how to send them money you dont get past automated responses for over a week.

If there's something that makes companies scramble faster than for money, it's for PR.
Someone send some mail around to PC Gamer, Rock Paper Shotgun, Shacknews, Eurogamer, hell, even Kotaku. Once the articles about "Steam's latest blunder: over a million gamers' account information deleted" are up, Gabe's ears should start perking our way.

I'm on my little brothers account now, as my main account is totally screwed up. Can't login. No profile. This is a nasty crash. I hope they give some kind of PR announcement to let people know what's happening if this continues for much longer. Not cool.

I had the same issue for about an hour. I just got back in and my account was set to appear offline and I had to enter a new email code cause it said I was logging on from a new location. So make sure you CHECK your bank accounts if you have a card added to your account.
