Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition NO DLC
Ive Looked for help for this problem everywhere and i cant find any. I recently bought Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition from play.com. I put in the disc and entered the cd key and the installer said i was installing the vanilla Fallout New Vegas and not the ultimate edition. However the picture shown in the installer said "Ultimate Edition" on it, and so did the game box, disc, and receipt. I ignored and continued,it installed and amounted to 6.2GB which i thought was strange for all the content but i played the game. No DLC messages popped up while i played for over an hour so i exited and went into the game library. It also says i only have the vanilla edition. I click on properties and look for the dlc in the dlc tab...there is none. I checked for the data files in the game launcher,no DLC data files in that either. Checked fallout folder in program files, and no DLC data files present. Ive tried reinstalling, verifying cache, etc.
I payed for the Ultimate Edition because i played the original on xbox a few years ago and played it to death, and now i pay for the extra content only to be basically ripped off by steam because they wont install the extra content. I know its not the disc that is the problem because i definitely have the ultimate edition.

Has anyone any idea how to fix this? Im fairly new to steam and with the amount of serious issues that ive dealt with since beginning to play games through it are seriously turning me off steam altogether.

But without a doubt this is the worst so far,as the only reason i bought the game was for the dlc,and im really struggling to find any solution,so ive basically been completely ripped off.

Has this happened to anyone else and how did you fix it? Im sorry for the really long post but im seriously never using steam again if i cant fix this, its extremely frustrating.

Have you right clicked on the game in your library? There is a "show dlc" tab there.
right click on the game in your steam library, proporties, DLC tab, this will show you what DLC is associated with the game on your account.

if there is a mismatch to what you activated/purchased and what steam has added to your account you will have to contact steam support.

https://support.steampowered.com/

I said in the post that i did that already. I also already tried contacting steam
It sounds as though you got an incorrect key from where you purchased it.

In the upper right hand corner of your client or browser, click on the bit that says "xxx's account" for the drop down and then select "Account Details". Under Licenses and Subscriptions, it should say "Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition". If it just says "Fallout New Vegas", you've been supplied something incorrectly.

As such, you'd likely have to contact where you bought it in order to get the appropriate item. There is, however, a chance that you can contact Bethesda -- http://support.bethsoft.com/ -- explain to them the situation about the incorrect product being activated by the key (provide your receipt, photo of the box, etc.) and they might be able to fix it faster than going through where you bought it.
have you checked the box for other cd keys for the dlc? the ultimate edition really isnt a seperate edition like most games, its just the base game with all the dlcs.
I'm experiencing the same issue at the moment. I tried reinstalling it, verifying the cache etc to no avail. I also contacted Steam & Bethsoft support but no reply until now. It says Retail in my licenses, however if I want to buy the Ultimate Edition in Steam, it says that I already got it.

Did you also purchase a retail copy from play.com?
To the guy saying he has the same issue:
I contacted bethesda and they sent me to another website that sells the game, as apparently there are different sellers that sell different boxes, and they gave me a new code.
Dude i fixed this, contact bethesda, they will give you instructions, you will need proof which is just pictures of the box with the code inside, i got a new code from the seller
Same issue here, glad i found this thread. Was very frustrating to order and install the ultimate edition, and only have access to the retail version. guess that's what i get for missing the summer sale. i've contacted steam and bethsoft as of last night. will update when i hear back.

Did you buy it from steam? If you did then you're fine, but if you bought it from an online seller like amazon, Bethesda will tell you to contact the actual seller, Bethesda can do nothing. But you'll get a new code for the ultimate edition for sure, all you have to do is take a picture of the box with the code inside and the disc.
I bought it from a reputable seller on eBay, and not from steam. I'm still waiting to hear back from Steam support so that I can send them the pictures.

Did you contact him?

You're basically screwed then. Steam can't help you because teh code as far as they're concerned is valid and does what it's supposed to do.

Good lukc with that 'reputable ebay seller' which usually means 'they're already gone'
if the game is unopened and the disk and box both say ultimate edition, then how is it the seller's fault? as far as reputable seller goes, he's had 99% positive feedback and hundreds of auctions. i've read similar threads about users with the same issue and i believe this is a steam problem. we'll just see if they handle it or decide i'm screwed
