my VISA card can't add funds to my steam
i don't know why this week can't add funds in my steam .

it's send to me "An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed.
Please contact."

Are you trying to make the purchase through the Steam client or a web browser? If you've only tried one, try the other.

Failing that, wait a little bit and if you're still having problems contact Steam Support as the message suggests. You can contact Steam Support here. You will need to create a separate Steam Support account in order to submit a ticket.

You can't add Steam Wallet funds with a Visa. Just buy the game & select Visa for payment.

not long ago, I used Mastercard to try and add funds to my steam wallet, and I got the same error message over and over again. Then I opened up my secondary computer and tried to add funds from it, that worked. That's all I know. I don't know why it didn't work on my main PC.

Seconded. Had this happen to me during the Christmas Sale. For a day or two, I had to buy games using a secondary account and gift them to my primary. Was a real pain in the ass. Same credit card that generated an error on one account was happily accepted on the other.

Go figure.

Have you exceeded your credit limit?

Is this a new card?

Have you used it to purchase Steam games in the past?

Ask your Creditcard provider about help on how to unlock your card so that it works on Steam.

I have a Mastercard and I had to apply for a certain feature on it for it to work on Steam. It'd work on Amazon but not Steam. So ask your bank about it and they will help you with that. It is most likely what's causing the problem.

this won't help I'm sure but... I have the same problem.
no code that says why, just... something unexpected. And I'm getting annoyed.

it worked seemlessly untill the 23 jan, midday. after having made one purchase I was to buy a gift right after, and it stopped working. no change in cards, and I checked... the credit should have been enough. so why.?

I've left a ticket with support, so I'll guess I'll post here if I get a satisfying answer. good luck with yours. / Jesa
