Reedem with Visa gift card

This might help you pick a good desicion if you're going to buy a gift card to reedem in Steam, learn from other peoples mistakes. I've spent more than 50 dollars on steam, but the other day i went and bought a Visa gift card instead of a Steam card. I had 25 dollars, i paid 4.95 for card activation, it left me with 20.05 dollars. I told the women to activate 20 dollars in it. Once i went into steam to reedem it, i could only reedem 5, 10, 25, 50, 100. So what did i do? I reedem 10 to reedem 10 more later, and Steam it self charge me 1 dollar for doing that, then i could only reedem 5 more dollars. I went from 25$ to 15$ in minutes. I mean this might not help for advanced people in Steam but if you think about it, it will be good for new ones like me. Make the right choice there :D

I've never paid more then $2 in Canada for one.
Steam cards are also subject to tax in most areas.

A Visa/Mastercard gift card can also be used everywhere
like Green man gaming, Humble Bundle....etc.

Steam doesn't always have to lowest price on games
most of the games I have I bought were half the Steam list price
somewhere else. Unless there is a sale on Steam for a game
third party key sellers are the cheapest route.


there really is no benefit to buying Steam Wallet cards unless
you are stuck paying high fees for Visa/Mastercard,.

@Crackhead88, I went to GameStop to buy a Steam Wallet card 25 dollars and apperently they didn't sell it.

The fee's on Visa/Mastercard gift cards varies from bank to bank
so shop around.

And what i meant to say was that i am buying the visa/master cards gift cards. So for card activation they charge me 5 dollars!
