HL2 Episodes 1&2 Missing From Steam Library

HL2 Episodes 1&2 Missing From Steam Library

I've owned the Orange Box since 2008. I haven't played any of the HL2 episodes in a while, but tonight decided to check out the Minerva mod for Episode 1. Much to my surprise, episodes 1 & 2 are both missing from my library, so I cannot install them. Half Life 2 and Lost Coast still appear, but where both episodes used to be grayed out, there is nothing. I'm not even sure if I still have my original Orange box and discs, please advise :<

They are both listed as owned games on your profile, so that's good. Is your library set to display "All Games"? Have you tried exiting and re-launching Steam?

Once the updates I'm downloading finish installing I'll try rebooting and/or booting into my Os X partition and report back.

Now this is weird... I searched for HL2E1 in the store, and it says I already own it. When I click "Play Now" it brings up a dialog box to install CS:Source. o_O

Super weird. I never bought CS:S, but it's in my library.

That is bizzare. Try this:

Steam Support > How to remove and refresh your Steam files [/quote]

Refreshing your Steam files can resolve many issues that can be encountered in the Steam application, store, or games. Performing this operation will ensure that there are no issues that could be resolved with a new installation of Steam, and is a good place to start any troubleshooting process.

If that does not work I'm stumped. You may want to consider contacting Steam Support.

Just read about this problem here. Allready 45 pages and a lot of people having the same problem.

Oh wow, yeah that's it. L4D2 was showing up as TF2 until I updated it.

And sure enough, If I actually try to install CS:S it installs HL2E1. Thanks for the help!

Wait no it doesn't. It seems to be trying to launch CS:S but can't do it because I don't have it. Updating fixed L4D2 but it looks like I need to try the global fix for this one.
