i have a fix that works for me... rep this comment if you can +++ hahaha
here's how :
1. login to steam with ur real account, then klik the logout button on Steam->Change User... then logout (dont go exit).
2. create new account (this is the important one).
3. logout like the way before (Steam -> Change User... Logout).
4. login again with ur real account.
5. enjoy ur game dude :)

i just restart the steam, then i enter in steam folder >steamapps>common>dota 2 beta>dota 2 and i enter in game but appears (connecting to dota2 network)

The best advice is not to play around with your steam files. If steam are working on this issue you could stuff all your files up where they might be working on a patch. just sit back relax and make a support ticket to steam via their support website.

Yes. The only issue I have right now is that in my library L4D2 shows a Dota 2 picture, instead of a L4D2 picture. For the rest it runs L4D2 and shows that I'm playing L4D2 to my friends.

Another question, did you download the L4D2 update (~4.5GB) or you ignored the update and just deleted the appmanifest file?

A fun thing here is that some people have issues with games but some people don't. I no longer have Dota 2, but my brother still got it. Some kind of magic, isn't it? :)

only bad souls get this, lol they will fix it but my advice is to do not delete any files and let the Valve work the problem and fix it

All the game id's are correct, for example the tf2 button shows the id 440, which is the tf2 id. and for Portal, that shows up as tf2 is 400, so i guess something is more fishy than just names...
