(Only in Steam Games) Mic too quiet/not working

Idk what it is but in every single steam game my microphone is so quiet that you can only hear me if i shout into it like an ♥♥♥♥♥. I testet almost everything, in steam settings, mic settings, but nothing worked. My Mic works perfectly fine in discord tho, or in any other game that isn't on steam.

Phasmophobia, Sea of Thieves, Sons of The Forest, The Forest, literally every steam game i have played so far, and no it's not the settings i already checked all of those

It's a new issue, or it's happen after X event? Anything that can give clue... We had another person last week with the same issue (but not resolved)... In this case, the mic was working well in Steam mic setting, but not in games (like you, very low level and static)...

OK. That mean it's problably after a Windows update, or Steam update. Someone solved this issue by uninstalling the last Windows update (but it's an old thread, and not obviously a very convenient solution)...

Check if you can find new drivers for your audio:

If no drivers is find by Windows, check by yourself if your motherboard have new drivers...

Note:I'm not at all an expert on the matter, all I can do is say what I would do in the same situation.

hey, thanks for the help but sadly i already tried this aswell, i updated the drivers multiple times, re-installed steam multiple times, and even reverted some windows updates, but nothing helped

What are your audio drivers? Maybe that will help to find more information... It's a drivers issue, maybe some conflict with Steam... But if we can find if others with the same audio drivers have the same issue, that will help....

Hi again, i think it's called realtek high definition audio, not too sure tho. And yes this seems like the same issue

Also my mic works perfectly fine in the steam mic settings, it just doesn't work in games
