Game download stuck on "verifying"
Im trying to download "Project Zomboid", the download seemed fine before but now on the verifying part it takes 5-10 minutes for the bar to even progress 1%. Ive gotten as high as 50% and even 97% but most times either steam crashes and restarts from 0 or it says that im "Missing download files" and restarts from 0. I bought other games and they downloaded just fine. Anything I can do?:steamsad:

I'm having a similar issue, a few games I already own will not finish patching. Other games download fine, but for me, Deep Rock Galactic, Payday 2, and Counter Strike:GO will be forever stuck on "Validating" or "Patching", left for weeks with the client open.

Just found the issue (or atleast what worked for me). You need to go to steam, settings, downloads and clear cache. It made my download go 5-10X as fast as before. Try seeing if it also works for you

Note that patching on steam is extremely disk and cpu intesnive

the most common issue for patching slowness is your anti-virus constantly blocking the patching process to scan files. Adding whitelisting in your anti-virus can improve patching times dramatically

Nope for me. Speed is not the issue. It just gets hung up and 100% will not progress no matter what. It *says* it's doing something, and it shows progress, but it just switches back and forth ad nauseam.

Hi Shadicus Maximus! Have you tried that?

Can't seem to find an option for that in my antivirus, but there were rules set to allow it output.

At any rate, un/reinstalling Deep Rock Galactic fixed it, so I'll the others next. Still not sure why specifically those three games had issues, when plenty of other games patched just fine...
