background music on startup
Sometimes when I start steam and log in, usually when a popup come up advertising a sale item background music will start to play. If I exit the popup window, the music will still play and the only way I have found to stop the music is completely exit from Steam and then restart. Is there another way to avoid this?

Music player, or the video you were viewing on store page?

If talking about music player, just go into Steam setting, ensure that "Scan at startup" isn't enable, then next on the client itself, click View, then click music player, and hit the pause button, then close it. If this is a client issue, you can try wither method.

- Opt in, or out of Steam beta, and see if issue resolved.
- Reinstall Steam, to keep games, go to where you install Steam, delete everything except for two things, "Steamapp" folder, and "Steam.exe", once done, run the Steam.exe, and see if issue resolved.

If talking about hearing sounds from video you saw last, just click on something for web page wise, like community, or front storage page, as there two sections for whatever reason, Library on it own, while got the store, and community, and just change page can resolve this.

If you want to just get to library on start up, if you left settings for default to show store page, then go into Steam settings, click on interface, the 2nd drop down menu change it to library, then press ok, so for now own it only loads to library when you launch Steam.

I do not know where the music is coming from, but it sounds like music you might hear in a video game in the background. When I exit the steam client it goes away, but then I have to log back in again. Also, in my interface settings library is already selected.

I think that did it. I went to view and music player and somehow there was one track in there so I removed it. It sounded just like the track that was playing, but I don't remember ever putting a track in there to play.
