Mic doesn't work ingame on steam
Hello everyone,

So I recently bought a new XLR microphone with a mixer inbetween.

Everything works in windows and discord. After this this I checked if my mic works in Rainbow 6 (ubisoft) and here it did fine.

But when I start up a steam game, it doesn't work. Games like DayZ or CSGO.

So I checked multiple fixes:
- Set everything to default device in Soundpanel
- Check your voice in steam (if I test it works)
- eneble microphone in apps

If I talk with a friend through the steam voice chat, it also works.
So I guess it's only ingame.

any suggestions ?

Greetings, SIlveres

You only have own soundcard support, and that app , and that device place as support.
steam has so few settings in sounds Friends & chat cog settings,

rest is from windows OS , there has been increased steam user with ingame issue, but Try sugestion forum, but i think you need the real support to look at it. and that hardware.

let them proof if this is a steam issue or windows, but even MS dont make sounds card Driver from other Brands product so its still that soundcard Brand you have or if Laptop that support that deal with it onboard sounds then its mortherboard support.

but sure it happend so many time its user own mis configurated wrong device, but it dont look like that, in your case. (if you have a headset with mic as extra device , that could be a very good idea to test with other things, more a check on not own mistake.

i know this is sound, but this is same if this was Graphic , contact GPU support

only people with same gear can help you , try that support place.

I got a responds from steam suppord:

Due to the variety of microphone and headset configurations, we are not able to provide direct support for specific microphone or voice chat issues. Microphone issues may be caused by OS-level settings, in-game settings, and custom configurations added for the affected game.

Please see our Voice Chat Connection and Quality Issues and Troubleshooting Microphone Problems articles for information that may help. You may also find users with similar configurations on Steam Discussions who may have found a solution for your issue.

Unfortunately, due to the number of potential causes for microphone and voice chat issues, it's difficult for us to provide accurate support remotely. I'm sorry we don't have a solution for you at this time.

So guess that was a pointless move :)
But thanks for the suggestion
