Unlink Steam From Bethesda.net

Having an issue unlinking a Bethesda account from steam.

I guess some many years ago a friend used my computer and used his bethesda account and linked it to my steam to play something. At this point in time i am trying to play fallout 76 and i noticed that the account that is signed in through fallout 76 is not my account and in reaching out to bethesda, they refuse to unlink the account without the account holder on their end okaying it. i've messaged the friend but its been years since ive heard from him, i dont even know if he is alive at this point, he used to be on social media a lot but he hasnt posted in years.

What do i even do at this point to get a resolution. i cant seem to find anything online and if i try to link my account to steam it just gives me an error.

And thats one of the reasons you are not supposed to let other people access your Steam account.
To be honest i think you are pretty screwed unless you manage to get a hold of your old friend and they contact Bethesda to remove the connection to your Steam account.
Bethesda already told you they wont do it without your friend, Steam cant do it and will tell you to talk to Bethesda.
So your only options are to continue using the linked Bethesda account when playing Fallout 76 or rebuying Fallout 76 on a new Steam account and link that one to your Bethesda account.

I dont see many more option here.
