HELP - Counter Strike 1.6 not running, visual c++ issue!

this happened when half-life updated, which affects other games based on the same hl.exe file!
it says the following:
"assertion failed!

Program:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\hw.dll
file:C:\buildslave\goldsrc_win32\build\GoldSr...\LoadBlob.cpp
Line: 90

Expression: NULL != hmoduleT"
anybody knows how to solve this?

Got the same problem just today, never had it before. Reinstaling the game doesn't help,

Same over here - deinstall, removal of the files, reinstall, norton scanning full system (no threats) nothing helped

same for me, can't find a solution so far.
I get the same error, and after i press abort, i get the same error but with:
FileSystem_Stdio.dll
instead of:
hw.dll

Tried reinstalling cstrike, and unistall and reinstall steam, deleting the dll's in question and verify/reacquire them from steam

Just had the sames issue as well!!!!!
Seeing stuff along the lines of

i tried reinstalling the microsoft visual C++ but still no solution -.-

guys i found a solution for now
go turn beta version in library-cs-propreties-betas-beta participation- (select none-> beta).
