Do not install Nvidia driver 522.25 at all costs.
It makes your Desktop Window Manager use 100% GPU and after a while started to make my screen flicker and gpu overheat for no reason. Had to revert back to 517.48 and all was fixed after.

What lights a fire under my butt is Nvidia is actively deleting any evidence of this driver's complaints as I have seen this discussed in many reddit forums and they all instantly get deleted right after.

No issues for me either with my RTX 3080 FE on the latest driver.

Maybe you should make a Fresh Driver Custom install, and make clean install then checkbox is there.

or Ask Nvidia support.

No problem here on my RTX 2080 with that driver.

Works here as well. CPU's pretty much idle on the desktop.

Safe mode was the only way I could even DDU clean install since it gave me a black screen every 5 seconds while my gpu was dying. Like I said before I just went back to Driver 517.48 which fixed the problem and completely refused geforce experience since I never want to deal with that crap again.

Entirely possible the install of 522.25 was buggy and not the driver specifically. You could use DDU to wipe the current driver and then reinstall 522.25 and have no issues.

Same happens with Windows sometimes. After an update bugs and crashes but wiping and reinstalling can fix it.

I'm not experiencing the problem (RTX 3070) but I've seen enough reports over the past few days to know that something is up. A workaround is to temporarily disable Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS)[devblogs.microsoft.com] and reboot the system.

On a totally different driver and GPU I had that issue, it was a bad installation, a clean install fixes such things.
