New Steam App/Steam Guard
All of the sudden Steam has stopped asking me for a code to login on my desktop and laptop. Is that supposed to happen?

Once you authorized the devices, yes.

You logged into your account using the app, correct?

To explain fully, this morning before I had even updated the app on my phone, steam on my desktop loaded up without ever asking for a steam guard code like it used to.

I downloaded the new app/updated, logged in on my phone.

Loaded up my laptop, logged in on steam, again, no asking for a code and nothing popped up on my phone.

I logged in to steam on my web browser on my laptop and it popped up the notification to approve the login.

So you login on browser, and asks for code. Yes that normal and how suppose to work for 2FA.

Username, password, and code.

If you disable Steam guard on account, you removed 2FA, meaning only need to use is username, and password, but you're at risk, if you ever leak that out as there no 2FA which is the point why want 2FA so random people can't just login on your account, as they require your code.

Right I get that for the browser but why is the steam program suddenly no longer asking for me to enter a code to complete the login? Just trying to confirm that is as intended.

Steam was updated to a new sign-in prompt a week ago.
The whole thing is flaky as all hell.

Some people are booted out of the Steam client every 24 hours with an expired session.
Some have to provide an e-mail 2FA code every time they log in on the client their system.
Some can't even sign in because they continue running into error codes.
And then some have no problems at all...

Nobody really knows what's what anymore.
Least of all Valve, probably. Because most of this lunacy has been plaguing the new sign in system since the start of its beta period back in bloody August. And they apparently fixed nothing.

Hi. I Need help. How to log out of this application ? The app forces me to delete Steam Guard as I want to log out. If I delete it I lose access to the PC version of Steam ?

If want to logout of steam guard app, switch back to 2FA for email, then remove it from account.
https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

Then go ahead and logout on app, can also delete it afterwards as well if wanted.
