Where is the QR code?

Ok, so I updated my Steam phone app. I'm trying to log in but it wants to scan a QR code. Where is the code?

You should use the new QR code as recommended but if you insist on entering your code, click on the button on the steam guard page that says "show steam guard code"

I'm trying to log into the phone app with my account, but after I entered my user/pass it wants a QR code. I'm asking, where is this QR code? Should it be popping up on my PC?

You have to use the generated codes then. Since the QR scanner is on your phone and you can't actually scan a QR code displayed on your phone's screen, you will need to use the steam generated codes.

EDIT: I've noticed some people still don't understand how to set up their steam guard on the new mobile app. I've provided this link for you to be able to understand how to set up steam guard.

This is all backwards, Trying to sign into the new app on my phone and it asks for the QR Code, where the hell is the QR code, then I sign into the web and it shows me a QR code so it signs into the web, not the app. Why do you always do this around the wrong way steam.....

Is there not an option to enter your codes? I've been using the beta build for sometime now and never ran into this issue.

Has your app already updated to the new version? Check the Appstore/Playstore to see if an update is available for the Steam Mobile Authenticator.

Just found out you are still logged into the mobile app after updating it. It's just shows you as a sort of tutorial the QR code scan option. If you click on the icon on the far left bottom of the app it takes you to the Steam store page.

Note, you don't need any QR code if you're already signed into the app before the update; just close that section - or navigate to another window - like you usually did on the old app.

The new app just opens on the Steam Guard screen like the old one. It confused me for a second as well.

I can't sign out of the mobile app, its says "the account you are attempting t sign out has an active steam gaurd authenticator on this devic. please migrate or remove your autheticatorand try again"

Try removing the authenticator and then re-adding it.

But the app says you should only have to enter a code if your phone has no internet access, my phone does have internet access or I wouldn't be trying to sign in...

All you have to do is click the button that says "Show steam guard code" on the same page as that message appears. Also, understand that the security note is like a suggestion. You can still use your generated codes to log in to steam. It is just much easier to sign in using the QR code.
