We do not need to use a browser to upload artwork. It can be done through the client. What we see in the client IS a web page in a browser. Profile > Screenshots > Artwork. There's an "Upload Artwork" button in the upper right below the navigation menu regardless of whether we're using the client or a browser.
You might have to have artwork in your artwork gallery to activate a showcase for them on your profile page. Upload some artwork and see if the option is there when you have images there to showcase. If you don't have content in that category to showcase the showcase option might not appear.
There isn't any way to investigate an error if it doesn't tell us what error it is.
I use opera gx as my default browser too. There have been things I found that don't work in gx but work in other browsers on some sites but I don't do much of anything through a browser on Steam. I use the client to do things with my profile and the forums.
