Friend may have had account stolen, what to do?
So my friend and I have been gaming on Steam off and on for a while, and earlier this year he realized he couldn't get into any of his games. Like they don't show in his library at all, he has no friends, his account is level 0. I figured he was trying to log into the wrong account or something and after confirming that he only has one email and does not have any other accounts, I started to dig deeper.

I have gifted him games in the past, I have email proof the gifts were received, yet he does not have them now. The username on the email matches his on his now empty account, so I am fairly sure he is on the correct account. So that had me confused obviously, heck he isn't even showing in my friends list anymore. So I decided to check a bit deeper.

I went to my library to double check the games I have gifted, Sea of Thieves in this scenario, and sure enough, there is proof I gifted the game, but it says I gifted it to a totally different account I have never seen.

I clicked this account, no profile pic at all, level 3, pretty generic. Except this account has ALL of my friend's games, it has me listed as a friend, even my brother's account was in his friend's list. By every indication, this IS my friend's account. However, right around January/February is when he lost access to his games, and this account has played CS GO as recently as last month.

Does anyone have an explanation for this voodoo magic? What can we do? I have verification that I gifted games to his account, but now a different account seems to have them, which is also the same account? IDK it makes no sense. Help....

Games can not be transferred.

Your friend signed into the wrong account.

No voodoo here.

Is there a way for him to get into said account? He has not been on it since January or February yet there is gaming activity since then and the name is not one he would use. If you are right, his account was hacked bad, and possibly a new email was linked if that's even possible. He has one email only and it is not associated with this account name. It is instead associated with his old account name which is an empty account.

He says his Blizzard account and Epic Games account were also hacked to some degree around the same time. I think he got into some sketchy stuff when downloading game mods or something.
