Need confirmation about account hijack for ubisoft ban appeal
Hello Steam Support / Community,

A few years ago, my Steam account was hijacked, but I later recovered it.
Now I am trying to appeal a ban in Rainbow Six Siege with Ubisoft, and they are asking for proof that my Steam account was hacked and then recovered.

Unfortunately, I cannot contact Steam support directly anymore through the usual help system.
Can anyone help me with how to get official confirmation from Steam about the past hijack and recovery?

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

What do you mean you can not contact steam support?
Do your tickets keep auto closing without an reply from steam?

Yes, I tried to contact Steam Support, but I didn’t receive any reply. The ticket was automatically closed after a while. I just want to prove that my account was hijacked years ago, and I didn’t cheat myself. Ubisoft needs confirmation from Steam, but I can’t get help. What should I do?

If your tickets are auto closing without a reply it means your account is still compromised. The hijacker sitting on your account is closing those tickets to prevent you reaching help. Steam support will always reply to tickets even if its just to say they cant help you.

Do the following to secure your account, then try opening a new ticket:

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Make sure to mention to ubisoft how your account got compromised again, so they know if they do unban you it's only a matter of time before you let someone else run amok on your account and possibly harm their customers.
