Enable Force Feedback for Xbox One Controllers (Windows 7/8/8.1 x64 ONLY)
***UPDATE 4/17/2016***

Going forward "Updates" will no longer be posted here at the top. To view updates (including TODAY's) and compatible controllers follow the OneDrive link and view the changelog.
______________________________________________________________________

For those interested in having force feedback, vibration, rumble or whatever one decides to call it, I have modified the existing Japanese force feedback driver for the 360 controller (and other xinput devices) by Masahiko Morii. If you are seeking support for official wired and wireless Xbox 360 controllers go here:

Force Feedback Driver for Xbox 360

1. Download the file.

Updated Force Feedback Driver for Xinput Controller[onedrive.live.com]

2. Run and click Next. (If prompted beforehand, click more info or I understand and run anyway)

3. If previous version is installed, click Remove.

4. Run again and click Complete, then choose install. (if prompted again, choose yes to complete installation)

NOTE: THIS IS SAFE...

This does not overwrite the official Xbox One Controller driver. It simply redirects the force feedback call from DInput to XInput. I have tested this on two of my home computers and it worked on all Directinput reliant games.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

1. DOUBLE CHECK that "Force Feedback Driver for Xinput" is removed in Add or Remove Programs, restart PC, then try again.

2. If you intend to use 360 controllers alongside an Xbox One controller you may have to have said 360 controller(s) turned on during installation.

3. x360ce may conflict with the force feedback of controllers (remove from game directory if this is the case) and try again.

4. From my understanding of this driver, Xbox 360 racing wheels DO NOT WORK. That is to say they will not vibrate or rumble.

Hi!

Any chance you could add these ID's? (I believe they are the same, but got the HID and X360 device ID's just in case)

HID\VID_0E6F&PID_0413&IG_00
HID_DEVICE_SYSTEM_GAME
HID_DEVICE_UP:0001_U:0005
HID_DEVICE

USB\VID_0E6F&PID_0413&REV_0100
USB\VID_0E6F&PID_0413

It's an Afterglow X360 controller. Not sur eof it's model, though it does have "PL-3702" on the back. I've tried everything I can think of to troubleshoot but I suspect that it's just a different model from Afterglow.

Even tried editing the .inf files of the older driver - no such luck!

Try this:

IF you get any kind of warning from your browser rest assured that the download is SAFE!

Didn't work for me with Xbox One Controller, neither with ETS2 nor ATS.
With the 360 Controller rumble works fine in both games.
Win 10 64bit

It works just fine for me, on both of those games.. You may have messed up. Just try to repair it with the download.

If you have a standard official Xbox One controller it SHOULD work fine. Go ahead and rerun the installer and UNINSTALL it. THEN go ahead and run it again and choose COMPLETE install.

The only Xbox One controller I don't have ATM is an Elite Xbox One controller. If you have THAT then that may be the answer (in which I'd need the Hardware ID's to add it).

If it STILL doesn't work then check out the Programs and Features (f.k.a. Add or Remove Programs) and find Force Feedback for Xinput and remove it. Restart the PC and check that it's GONE from Programs and Features. Once you confirm it's gone go ahead with the installer making sure to choose COMPLETE install.

If it STILL STILL doesn't work give me the Hardware ID's and I'll just quickly get a driver ready just for you.

Thanks for the help guys.
I already installed the driver multiple times and did everything as described...

Anyway, i just found out that the problem is the connected chatpad.
When i start ATS/ETS2 without chatpad, vibration works like a charm. Even if i attach the chatpad afterwards, everything works (Controller+Vibration+Chatpad).
But when i start the Games WITH already connected chatpad, then there is no rumble. That was/is my problem.

@ NUK3 TH3 WHAL35: Is this something you can "fix" in the driver?
If not, no big deal. I know now that i have to start without chatpad and connect it afterwards.

These are the HW-IDs of the chatpad:

HID\VID_045E&PID_02F3&IG_00
HID\VID_045E&UP:0001_U:0006
HID_DEVICE_SYSTEM_KEYBOARD
HID_DEVICE_UP:0001_U:0006
HID_DEVICE

Sorry, man. As far as I know the XBOX One controller doesn't work for Windows XP.

If you have an official XBOX 360 controller there is a driver for that AND for XP.

Simply follow the first like at the VERY top of the page.

Then on the following page under "Download the software" click the FIRST link.

From there agree to "leave" Steam to continue to the new web page.

Translate (if prompted) and download "Windows XP (English)" or the x64 edition (english) if you have a x64 build of XP.

I'm pretty sure Hardware ID's are the same across 32 or 64 bit, but give me the Hardware ID's of your controller anyway just so I can be on the safe side. I'll give it a try...

Hi, I have an Xbox One Controller with Windows 7. Its a Marvel Civil War branded controller. Not sure that makes a difference. It vibrates when Windows 7 starts or when I plug it in. However, it doesn't work with any Steam games. I've tried your software multiple times with reboots, uninstalls etc, but it never works.

I have a Logitech F310 gamepad plugged in at the same time. Could that be causing a problem? Hardware IDs of my Xbox controller are:

USB\VID_24C6&PID_543A&REV_0101
USB\VID_24C6&PID_543A

Unplug it. The Logitech COULD be the reason when plugged in alongside it. I know that when I have an original XBOX controller plugged in, my XBOX One controller won't vibrate. The original XBOX controller does! I think that might just be what's happening. However, your particular Logitech controller doesn't even HAVE force feedback built into it! That'd be the F710 model (which I've added to be compatible)!

What Steam games are you trying to play?

With it being an XBOX One controller it SHOULD work out of the box with vibration/force feedback with nearly all modern games. The origins of this driver I've modified are for the purposes of playing older games that predate Microsoft's XInput API. This would DEFINITELY be games prior to 2005-2006 and ROUGHLY games 2008 and prior as well as emulators with vibration implementation.

Granted, I was unaware that a "relatively" new game such as Euro Truck Simulator 2 in fact RELIES on DInput with XInput only "somewhat" utilized. This however, may be due in part to wheel based driving peripherals intended for the game.

To further test your Civil War controller run Steam Big Picture and head to the settings where you can test controller. It should be listed as an XInput controller and when highlighted the controller should vibrate when pressing "A".
