[Solved] Low FPS Only on Steam games
EDIT: I fixed with, my CPU was throtling, so it wasn't only "Steam games"

Hi, lately I've been dealing with EXTREMELY low FPS on any steam Games, from Brawlhalla to Dota 2 or Dirt Bomb, they start at 60FPS or even more, but they end up running at 10 FPS or less.
This doesn't happend to other games that don't use Steam, UNLESS I have Steam open ( It Happens to Rising Thunder or Any Battle.net Game )
A friend of Mine told that she had the exact same problem for 2 Months, updating steam was the solution, mine doesn't fixes it not even Updating or using the Beta Steam test.

This is My PC (Desktop )
Windows 8.1 64 Bits
8GB RAM HyperX
AMD FX 63000 Six Core Processor 3.5GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 4GB

I Already tried to reinstall Windows, the problem persists.

Thanks, and sorry for my bad English.

Disable V-Sync if enabled, play in Fullscreen mode and also how are you monitoring these game framerates?

Try to disable steam overlay. In your Steam client, click "Steam," followed by "Settings." Navigate to the In-Game tab and uncheck "Enable Steam Community In-Game.

Just a little tip about a thing called superfetch that theoretically speeds up programs over time, but has extreme fps drops sometimes overtime instead until you reboot your computer or wait it out (upwards of 5 minutes) I know 100% that this happens because after a long time of wondering what was going on I went and disabled it and the problem never showed up again, but at the price of slower load times (Slightly) and quite a bit slower boot up times. Others have dome the same. It hasn't happened on windows 10 yet (knock on wood), but if you are on windows 8 or 8.1 give it a try.

1. hit windows key + letter R
2. Scroll down till you see superfetch
3. Right click superfetch and go to properties.
4. WHere it says start up type, click it and choose disabled. (Also where it says running hit stop)

That is a wierd problem then. What does task manager say in terms of cpu usage or hdd usage?
Roids Aug 9, 2015 @ 6:46pm
It says 98% cpu usage, but only 78 is being used by the game. 78% cpu usage alone is WAY to high for dirty bomb to be using unless you have a computer from 2001. Here are some things that you could try

"Enable push to talk and you'll get your 25% processing power back.

Steam > Settings > Voice.

Old known bug that valve refuse to address"

I will keep looking to try and help, but here are a few other thing you could try if you have not yet.

1.disable steam overlay in the settings on steam
2.try running steam in admin mode; right click on steam shortcut (it will say not to)

looking at that photo again you have ALOT of extra applications running, try this to see if one of those is the issue.

1.Hit the windows key + R
2.Type in msconfig, click ok
3.Click on where is says services
4.At the bottom click the box that says "hide all microsoft services" and click disable all.

after all that restart steam and post back with you results from dirty bomb to see if that helped
