Ark: Survival Evolved - Can I play with less than minimum required specs?

I am really interested in this game, and it doesn't have its own forum, so I'm just posting here.
I have a macbook air with these specs:
Processor: 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

The store page says these are the minimum required:
Processor: 2 GHz Equivalent CPU
Memory: 4000 MB RAM
Graphics: OpenGL 3 Compatible GPU with 1GB Video RAM

Do you think it would run or is there just no hope? I don't know a whole lot about computers, but from what it looks like, I am only a little bit low on the processor.

It's an Early Access game.

So you shouldn't think about getting it unless you meet the recommended requirements.

Every game sold on steam has its forum. You can get to it through the discussion main page and selecting game fprums tab or on any game's store page there is a link in one of the columns on the right hand side. Here is ARK's http://steamcommunity.com/app/346110/discussions/

Remember ARK is in Early Access and is not finished nor optimized. Even people surpassing the minimum requirements have performance issues. Be aware that the requirements can also change over time as well. You have a two week from purchase and 2 hour game time limit to decide if you want to keep it or refund it.

i bought ark: survival evolved on my 2013 macbook air three days ago.
i was really hyped to play it, but it just cannot properly run at all :(
even on the lowest settings, it's just too laggy to enjoy.

so its a no, dont get it. sorry mate
