Thanks for the tip, I was thinking on doing it but I'll give it a go for few days, maybe some solution pops up from the skies :)
run it as admin.
reboot.
2. reinstall nvidia driver for laptop (clean installation) including geforce experience.
reboot.
after reboot, optimize supported games using geforce experience.
afterwards, you can uninstall geforce experience if you don't want it but leave nvidia driver and physx as it is.
That is pretty much what u may need to do here.
this is practically standard procedure for laptop users. The game isnt' going to magically detect your Nvidia card
Don't rely on the Windows 10 update to install the correct drivers for you. Go to the Nvidia site for your location (i.e. .com/ .co.uk) and download the dirvers from them manually. Then, from your downloaded file, right click and choose "run as administrator". This allegedly sorts out the issue. As I say, I have not actually tried it yet but I am retrying my "in-place upgrade" for a second time and will attempt it myself once I have reached that stage in the process.
I hope that helps you some.
Anytime installing anything, click Custom. For one it allows you then see what exactly it is going to install. And also with the NVIDIA Drivers, it's best to do Custom > and then click the Perform Clean Install box.
Windows Updates in Win10 Home are pretty much forced; so ensure u manually scan and then Hide Device Drivers u don't wish MS to force on u.
Also, for some reason I failed to recognise the O/P is using a laptop. I suspect it is using "optimus" and I found that I had an issue with an iGPU and dGPU as it wasn't sure which GPU it should be using. That created an installation issue on my system. (specs on public profile)
Did so didn't work :\
Forced , didn't work .
The fact is; you Upgraded instead of Clean Installed; the later is your best option.
Because the fact is, there are too many possibles from your previous OS that could be your problem here. This is the reason a majority of folks have issues after an OS Upgrade.
Go back to your previous OS; get that all running, so u know that is working fine.
Then clean install Win10 via bootable media. This method will still preserve your previous OS under Windows.old; as long as u do not format, simply install new OS. The difference is here is you will have Win10 clean; nothing from the previous OS will be there to get in your way. If you need to revert back to previous OS after this, u still can, at boot up.
I'll probably do clean OS install tonight :)... thanks!
Just about to follow your advice myself. Too many issues at the moment with my "in-place upgrade" so I am going to roll-back and then follow your advice of a media install since I have just burnt the iso.
I'll update post later with more information :=)
