Windows 10, games not recognizing dedicated GPU.
Since I updated to Windows 10, none of my games are recognizing my graphics card. I have the GeForce GTX 860m, updated drivers, global settings on Nvidia Control Panel are set to high performance Nvidia card, and still my games are using integrated graphics card. Please help!!

Open the device manager and see if your graphics card is malfunctioning in some way. (there'll be a little caution symbol next to the graphics card if there's an issue)

Clean install the videocard drivers under the Custom Installation -button upon installing the drivers.

If 32-bit Windows 10:

If 64-bit Windows 10:

I already did that, nothing seemed to happen

And your monitor is connected to your actual videocard and not the integrated chip (if you use one, since you're on a laptop[?]), right?

Although I suppose I don't see why you'd unplug your computer.

Yes of course it is, it's a laptop though. No problem with disconnecting anything

you may have to reinstall the graphics card's drivers because windows 10 renews your operating system. That's what happened to me.

Nevermind, apparently I needed an update for the integrated card which just finished installing. My games are all good now. Thanks for the help
