asus g750jm wl i7-4710hq processor, should be no different than any other windows 10 laptop for settings however, so the main issue comes in the actual w10 settings, does it not?

Go to all settings, devices, mouse/touchpad, advanced settings (it's at the very bottom of the new box that pops up) and then the "Device Settings" tab and then click disable. It will ask you to confirm, say yes. Mark the box that says "Static tray icon in taskbar" and then hit "Apply" and then okay. You must hit "apply" first for some reason. This is only temp though, you will have to redo it every time you get back on your computer. But you can then use the icon in the pop up box, (the little ^ next to the notifications button in your start bar) to go straight to the device settings. That is until they force an update and then you have to do the whole process again. Still looking for the disable when a mouse is plugged in option, don't know why they got rid of it. If you find it first, let me know.

Asus laptops have a shortcut to disable touchpads. Usually it should be 'FN' + F9. 'FN' key is sitting between left control and left windows key.

Edit: Just noted the thread is a few weeks old. So maybe you already found a solution for it.
*Cheers*

Well, I stand corrected. Just went in to do it now, literally right now, and they have added the option to disable when a usb mouse is attached in the update I got last night. So if you don't have it yet, it should be rolling out soon to you.

wow, thanks. I completely forget about the function keys since asus laptops actually use the f1-f12 keys like regular f1-f12, (though I do use the functions for increase/decrease volume XD)
