Freesync with an nvidia GPU, will it work?
Okay so i am getting the Asus MG279Q monitor, it's 1440p 144Hz IPS and has Freesync and Adaptivesync, i am new to those and have no idea on how they work, but i do know that Freesync is for AMD and Gsync is for Nvidia, i have a GTX 970 and was wondering if it is compatible as i heard Adaptivesync works for both cards. if it does indeed work, how do i enable adaptivesync? or it isn't different from Freesync cause i couldn't find any option to enable adaptivesync.

Adaptive V-sync is enabled from within your video driver an can not be compared to Freesync or Gsync as it works fundamentally different, more like classical V-Sync

nVidia does not support Freesync, so it won't work with a Geforce videocard.

Unfortunately, I don't think this video confirms your comment. It seems to state quite clearly that FreeSync only works with AMD, BUT adaptive v-sync will work with the Nvidia cards.

So is there any screen tearing or any noticeable image degradation when using this monitor with your Nvidia GPU?

I have an AMD R9 390 GPU but i'm worried if I get an Nvidia card in the future will I experience screen tearing or loss of image quality.
