FPS drop every few seconds?

no matter what game i'm playing, i always get a big fps drop every 2-3 seconds. This started last night when i got on cs:go and noticed i have all the lag spikes.. tested this out with other games and still get the fps drops. any suggestions on how to fix this?

Has this occured for as long as you've had the PC or only recently, if it's always happened, just turn down your graphics, maybe your pc just can't handle the game. If it's a recent issue, check to see if your GPU is working...

You can turn down your graphics invidually or put something in your Launch Settings.

nothing else worked so i had to re-install steam. It worked though! thanks for the replies anyways :)
