How long will a Pending Gift transaction take?
Hi, I just bought Dawn of War II as a gift for a friend, I clicked on the "keep it on my inventory for later" option, and I've been waiting for it, but on my store transactions it says "Event: Pending" anybody knows how long this usualy takes? Any way to see further information about this? I've been readinng that It could take a few hours, but what if it fails, and the Sale Price time runes off? Is there any way to accelerate the process?

I think you can't do anything useful there because the only thing is to make a steam support ticket and it will take longer.
Just take some screenshots of the time and the sale price, wait and later see how it went. If it takes longer and the sale price runs off and they charge you more money because of that you can make a support ticket and tell them about it and if they don't or can't do anything ask a refound of it. Btw try to be polite to them if you need to make a ticket.

Yeah sure! It's my first time buying a game through steam, I bought a copy of DoW for myself, and it worked just fine, but I bought a gift for a friend and turned into "Pending", a shame, I wanted to play heh. But I'll take the screenshot and wait, hopefuly by tomorrow everything will be working.

I have searched the pending thing and they say 2 things, first :

Don't try it again because it can charge you again the price.

The second one:

"In Progress" (Or, "Pending" in English) means that the transaction is not complete, and it is still being processed by Steam and/or your Bank.

Just means you'll have to wait for the transaction to complete. It may be that there was a small hiccup or your bank is being slow on the weekend. It's not all that uncommon for transactions to not process completely on the weekend.

Give it a while and wait for it to comlete. There is a chance it might fail, but I wouldn't worry. If it does fail you will get your money back in a few days (depending on your bank).

Wait some time and if you can come back in 1h or 2h to check see if it went fine and if not and it appears as failed try to buy it again for your friend.

Yeah, I bought it like 2 hours ago, and so far no changes, but It doesen't says it "Failed" so I'll give it till tomorrow, hopefuly I'll get news, I'm worried about not getting it in time with the SALE price, I wouldn't be able to afford if it wasn't for that Sale price.

Why did you not make your own thread instead of necroing this 3 year old one with a unrelated topic?

And the answer is 15 days. After turning off/on the Steam Guard you have a 15 day trade restriction.
