Terraria not installing at all
EDIT: I got it downloaded! Thank you for the help. It turns out Steam thought my internet was broken and didn't deem it fast enough to download/install files. I reset my Steam files and tried again and after 10 hours of installing it's now done. Once again thank you for the help.

Help! A friend of mine purchased Terraria for me a couple days ago and since then every attempt to install the game has failed before the files are even created. Steam labels the error as a "Network error; connection timed out" but my internet is running smoothly for the majority of the time I use it. I've followed and researched lots of docs in the Steam Support, eg. Troubleshooting Network Connectivity, Required Ports for Steam, Setting Steam's Launch Options, Programs That May Interfere With Steam, etc, etc, etc; and followed all their advice but it still won't install. I haven't got the chance to try other networks or wi-fi yet, but I don't believe that is the problem. I've had no issues downloading and installing other games. What am I doing wrong??

I'm not using McAfee, I got rid of that a while ago. As for his internet, as far as I'm concerned his is better than mine.

The only plausible explanation I can think of is that we are from different countries. That might have some kind of interference.
