OK I LOST THE JUMPER ON CMOS AND I CAN STILL USE THE COMPUTER?
I had to reset the BIOS, it opend up the computer. Switched the jumper, started the PC. Turned it off. The when I was to switch back the jumper I lost it in my PC. I dismantled everything, did still not find it. I put everything together and now it works without the jumper on the CMOS? Is this the purpose? I am new to computers so I have no idea if this is how it should be???

I am relativley new to computers, but I have old CPU and motherboard. So the BIOS isn't top notch i purpose. I have messed around with the BIOS alrady. When the screen is black but the PC is running you have to reset the BIOS. But that my PC can run without the jumper, that is where I have no knowledge.

Well, the missing jumper tells the mainboard to reset the BIOS settings, which now happens every single time you turn on the PC. If you have no problems running on default BIOS settings, then it should work out.

What is the BIOS doing?

Basic Input and Output. It's what runs before your OS.
