steam no longer allows twitter links to work in any steam post?
A few months ago, I noticed that every twitter link I use in any steam post no longer works.

So now when there is any news in the gaming group that has a twitter link, the reader has to copy paste the link into their browser to see the tweet. Whereas, for years, the reader just had to click the link.

Why did steam make this change? Or is it twitter that forced this? Makes no sense.

For example, see this post in the gaming group that has (2) twitter links. Neither link works, so I also included the wording of both tweets for readers who don't want to copy/paste the link to their browser.

Anyone know how to make links to twitter work in steam - like it worked for years.

I've clicked those two links and they lead me to Twitter, no copy pasting.
How's it look for you in another browser?

I noticed that the links work if you access the steam group in a browser. But if you are logged into the steam platform itself, the links are still not working.

So bizarre.

It's like steam or twitter don't want to cooperate with each other when a person is inside the steam platform.

They also work on the mobile app just fine.

I've tried both from a browser and from within the client, both links work as expected in either.

If by "Steam platform itself" you mean the client, works just fine. Something's wrong on your end.
Deleting Steam's web cache usually gets rid of weird stuff.

Ok. Thanks for the feedback and I feel better knowing the links work for people!

I used Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc

I will delete steam's web cache and see if that fixes things for me inside the steam platform - because it does seem to be something wrong on my end.

No. They still work fine but you can no longer view embeds because "Twitter" ( not calling it by its new dumb name) requires you to be logged in to view them.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
