[solved] streaming client linux, gamepad problems? please post your experiences!

I've started an related discussion in my distros forum, this one is different.

I'm interested in people's experience about Windows to Linux streaming over network, meaning the Hostmachine is Windows and the Linux client is native Linux software.

My keyboard+mouse+sound experience is that it works, but as soon as I'm trying to use an gamepad (xbox360 with xboxdrv userspace driver(this is what my problem I posted in the archlinux forums is about)) it fails, the gamepad gets recognized and all and I have some buttons (not all) in lets say super tux 2 but in steam there's no controll at all.

I want to rule out if this is an unique, userspace driver related problem or if there are other experiences of control failures.

xboxdrv --mimic-xpad --deadzone 10% --trigger-as-zaxis --buttonmap tl=tr,tr=tl --axismap -trigger=trigger did the trick.

I have a nyko playpad pro and snakebyte iDroid:♥♥♥ bluetooth gamepads connected to a fedora 20 media pc (streaming from a win7 pc), and the performance is somewhat frustrating. As far as big picture mode is concerned, the snakebyte controller works the best--both joysticks are detected ( conversly the left joystick on the nyko acts like a d-pad). Games that work have been hit an miss.

So far, Blur and Skullgirls seem to work well enough, goat sim doesn't work streaming but kinda works native, bastion doesn't detect on streaming and doesn't register all the buttons in native. Shadow warrior works alright. Mortal Kombat Kollection and Dead Rising 2 (both streaming) don't seem to register.

I don't know if I can solve this, maybe it's better to move this to another thread?

try adding: your Desktop Environment (last time I've seen fedora was version 5 or something), your graphics card, your connection, your graphics driver. multiple factors can cause the streaming to run slow I guess.
