Steam Not Opening on Mac- Can't find registry.vdf

Hello all, I need some help.

Steam is not opening up on my mac. It doesn't even hop on the dock, just appears for a split second and goes away. I've tried almost every trick in the book except one. I was told to delete the registry.vdf file. The problem is, I can't find it.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Steam 10 times
I've restarted my computer 5 times.
There's nothing.

And before you all say, "Go to ~/Library!!!11" I did that. It worked once but after uninstalling and reinstalling, the Steam file is gone from my Application Support folder. I can't remember what I did to find it there the first time. It's just plain not there. I also checked the contents of the Steam application- nothing.

Any and all help would be extremely appreciated.

Alright, so I managed to find the file and I deleted it, but it still won't work! This is a huge problem! I deleted it by dragging it into the trash and using the terminal. Steam isn't even popping up!
