Duke Nukem 3d megaton edition crashes

Hi Everyone

I have Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition on Steam and am currently playing its campaign on the the 3rd chapter on level Flood Zone and it crashed when I tried to save it. Now every time I try to load a save from the campaign it crashes the game.

I have Windows 7 64bit Home edition Service Pack 1 with 8GB of RAM. I have an ATI RADEON HD 7700 Video Card and an Intel Core i5 3.5GHz CPU.

This has been going on for a couple of days now since it first crashed. Can anyone help me out here?

Your best bet for help is in the Duke Nukem forum rather than the one for help with Steam and the Steam client.
That said some of the basics to try are verifying game cache, flushing Steam's config file, reinstalling the game, repairing Steam, making sure drivers are up to date, etc...

You may have a corrupt save file though. If there are multiple save slots try starting a new game then saving as soon as your able to and then quit the game restart it and load that save file.

okay thanks for your help. I tried some of those things already and still no luck. It also crashes when I try to save a game if I start a new game. I will have a look at the duke nukem forums now.

It is a corrupt save or saves I deleted them and started the chapter againg without cloud synchronisation for the game and the same thing happened on the same level around the same time. I am reinstalling and downloading the game now to see if that makes a diiference.
