Living in Germany and commuting to Switzerland
Hello everyone,

I usually use Paypal (German account) for general purchases in steam. However, I am at work right now and I am a commuter. Therefore the German PayPal settings do not work in Switzerland. I cannot purchase any games over here for that reason.

Does anyone by chance have an idea or is in the same situation?

Use a web browser and the german Steam store http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=de . Then you should be able to pay with your german PayPal.

that does not work it only shows the prices in another shop.

tell steam support about it they may need to allow you to do that.

Just tested it the other way round. Using http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=ch for the swiss store and selecting PayPal, I get the checkbox "I verify that I live in Switzerland". I actually live in Germany and have a german IP at the moment.
So, it is indeed the actual shop for that country and not just a display of the prices.

tell steam support about it before you do stuff like that.

just ask how you can purchase without raising any red flags.
they will sort it out.
