Cant put money on through Paypal

Hi, Ive just got the "Your purchase has not been completed.
The payment processor has reported an authorization failure. Please select a different payment method." error when trying to put £25 on steam through Paypal.

My bank is showing i have over £200 in there at the moment and i dont understand why all of a sudden Steam is not letting me use Paypal, seeing as i have used it without any problems for the past few years.

Any help?

It's not a problem with Steam but a problem with PayPal. They might change their internas again or whatnot. PayPal only seems to work with Steam if you have money on your PayPal account ready. It has been failing for me doing CC or DD with PayPal for 4 years by now..

You can use other direct-transfer methods as well (depending on your country). For us Germans there's some "instant bank transfer" that is as safe as PayPal since I could cancel their debit on my bank account.

Did you get through PayPal's checkout without issue? I'd check with PayPal that no money was taken their end, it could be a network issue, store is a bit busy at the moment with the sale and all.
Have you contact Steam Support regarding this?

Yeah i may have to just use my credit card directly if i cant get this sorted

I have my PayPal infomation saved to my account so i dont actually get redirected to their website. I would contact steam support but from my last 3 - 4 issues ive had with steam, they have never replied or got it sorted and the people on the forums have helped me much more than they have.

It's one of those topics that "nobody is responsible for". Steam will send you to PayPal and other way around. Just gotta adapt and live with it. It's not only Steam PayPal is failing with but other big, serious internet stores as well.

Okay, ive got it working now. I just had to delete my saved paypal account off steam and redo it. Strange to why it messed up in the first place

Right, this must be an error on Valve's end. I tried adding another £10 from the paypal account that i just saved literally 2 minutes ago and its given me the same error message. Yet if i delete the saved info and resave it, it works once and then fails again. Odd
