Steam won't allow me to sell until 6/30 when the sale ends? Any way around this? Feeling a bit cheated...
So here I am, trying to liquidate my card inventory when I get this error:
http://s218.photobucket.com/user/PM-/media/bs.png.html

What you're looking at here is Steam not allowing me to sell my cards, and it restricting me from doing so until the sale is over. I've been racking up Summer Sale cards, which I didn't want to go through the hassle of combining, and they also expire the same day that this imaginary lock on my selling is lifted. And I didn't even use a new payment method, I used the same credit card as the last time I filled my Steam wallet - the only difference was that I was coming off a different IP address at my office.

So here I am, SOL, with cards I was hoping to make a couple $'s off of so I could afford a few cheap games.... unless I drop yet another $5+ in my wallet to buy a couple $0.60-$1.75 items that I wanted. I understand Steam's hooking me up with these cards for free, but, this is total BS. Is there any way to fix this?

(PS - Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I don't usually use the forums and this seemed the best fit)

I'm not sure. I dealt with the same thing last Summer, and all I could do was wait.
They did the opposite to me. I saw the game that was being played between the teams , so I thought . . ill put some money in my steam wallet and create a badge, since our team is winning.

Then I try to buy cards for the badge , but they wont let me until the 30th . . . which cuts me out from the contest.

This is bs. I wasted money for nothing.

Thanks Steam,.l
Oh great, just checked and I can't use the market to Buy cards either. I was thinking it was just selling locked....

So that's spectacular, add a little cash to your account and screwed out of everything card or market related for the whole summer sale....
Next time make sure you get it all setup before the start of the sale, as soon as you hear the rumours about the sale is the time to make sure your account is in order.

Well, the thing is, I never had a reason to verify because I have already used the same credit card to fund my wallet. I honestly can't think of any reason why I'd check that before seeing a game go up for sale that I wanted, unless I was being silly and making game purchases with full knowledge that the sale was starting soon.

That aside, I believe I just found the solution(This may fix for Naota too) - though it may or may not have cost me about $3.00. A mystical link appeared when I went to the market using a link from the below... link... which I found perusing the SUPPORT section.

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4766-SFGK-7781

Scrolled down to where it says:

"Using the Steam Community Marketplace"
"Accessing the Steam Community Marketplace, or tips for using the Market without payment restrictions."

Clicked "Steam Community Marketplace" link

And a new section appeared(which definitely wasn't there yesterday):
"You've recently funded your Steam Wallet using a new payment method. While the new funds are being verified, you'll be unable to use the Community Market. You can verify the funds now, or wait until the restriction is automatically removed on 6/30/2014 7:29:53 AM. Find out more in the FAQ."
This is accompanied by a "Verify Funds" button in the new section. Click through it and it will charge ~$3.00 to your card(not clear on if these are cancelled or I just lost $3.00...), then you just need to tell it how much the charges were, and it will lift the pending verification.

So, this is mostly solved I guess. Aside from that $3.00 confusion. And not sure if it'll work for Naota.
I used a standard debit gift card to add money to my account and now I can't use the market at all. I can't verify transactions or send anything to the card, it's all used up. So I have no way out.

If adding funds from a prepaid Debit Card to Steam Wallet could hang their market access, there should be a warning for the users before they do so. It's unacceptable that this new limitation was put in place and there's no way for legitimate users to resolve Valve's false positive.

The solution is not for users to read Valve's mind (which is essentially what you just told us to do) it's for Valve to fix their broken account verification system. My account is just fine, everything WAS in order as it had been for years. It still is - just not according to Valve's apparently changing and arbitrary rules. This is a failure on Valve's part, not mine.
