i don't know if you have a job. But lets pretend you have a job that pays you $1000 a month (just to use a nice round number). If you give away $500 of your paycheck to me.. and i told you "No no, it's cool, you haven't LOST any money yet (merely because you haven't gone into negative numbers yet)" wouldn't that seem absurd?
Of course you've /lost/ $500 of the income you otherwise would have had to pay your rent, pay your other bills, go out to eat, see a movie.. yadda yadda. To suggest you really haven't lost anything until you give me your entire check and /then/ some seems.. bizarre?
Even giving away $500 dollars worth of games Valve has "lost money".
Your changing the argument. The post I replied to implied that value could not afford to give more games away. I have people on my friends listing spending vastly more money on cards/crafting badges each summer sale day then their top 3 most expensive games on their wish lists.
I'm not saying value should give more games away but I am saying they could do without it being a issue for them. They could reward 500 people a day and all that would happen is they would end up with more money from card sales from people trying to win.
We have the monopoly thing here but it's a bad example. In that game you have to buy a meal to get stickers. You can't just buy the stickers from a marketplace run by mc donalds. The other issue with it is people throw away the stickers not knowing that they could be winners as there only part of a set.
The only thing I want from value is to make it so all early access games have to sign a contract saying they will finish their game within 4 years of release or they have to refund any moneys.
That doesn't answer my question, but thanks anyway.
Any game that has a price tag next to it (example battleblock threature $3.75) you could win if you were to win the prize the games like arkham knight (no price) can not be won
That's the best I can explain it sorry
The rules say otherwise.
"Each day the team with the most points wins. 30 members of that team who contributed points that day will win the top 3 games off their Wishlist."
I'm sorry I'll be quiet now :(
