"Your account is currently unable to use the Community Market" WTF???
For whatever stupid reason, I'm not able to use the Community Market at all right now. It says I don't meet the "criteria", but I don't understand why. I have been using the same card for well over a year, and I have made purchases recently. Is something wrong with the service, or is STEAM being ridiculous about me accessing the Community Market while being totally okay with me purchasing stuff off the store?

HLCinSC: Nope. Not a single one. That's why it's very confusing.

Well what does the error say exactly? You cannot use it because your not in good standing, cannot use it until a certain date, cannot use it until being verified, etc...?

It says exactly what I put in the title. If I try to purchase something anyway, it then tells me, "Your account isn't able to purchase off of the Community Market." And that's it. It's bizarre. No explanations or anything.

and it does this in both the client and browser? How long have you had this issue?
Jeriphro Jun 22, 2014 @ 10:44pm
Yep. Both areas. This is the first time I've ever experienced it. Keep in mind, I haven't used the Community Market yet, but I've been with STEAM for years. I haven't changed anything or used any new credit cards lately, and I've definitely made purchases, including today. haha. I was trying to help my Team Color, but I wasn't able to use the Community Market. Oh, well. At least I tried.

How long have you been trying to use it?

Yesterday and today, as part of the Summer Sale.

can you trade problem free? What about putting an item for sale on the market?
Jeriphro Jun 22, 2014 @ 11:07pm
I haven't tried trading yet, but it won't let me sell either.

This may be stupid but you are sure you don't have an alert? If what you are saying is all true,
then contact Steam support . You are the first to post this problem and only the support can help you.

kanapeN: I'll just do that. I was posting to see if anyone else was having problem.

I'm having the same issue. I've been purchasing games and buying and selling cards on the market throughout the sale, but it's only today (after adding $5 to my Steam Wallet) that my access to the market is restricted. However, since being restricted I'm had an email that one of my market items sold, so it's just buying that I'm having a problem with.

It's pretty lame.

@Lord Disco/Jacq: Do you have your credit card saved on your steam account or do you have to type out your details every time you make a purchase? I see Jacq put money in his/her account, did you do the same Disco?

Experienced the same thing when deciding to add money to my wallet so buy some games so I had some spare change for the market and then got locked out of it as a result. :meatytears: I don't save my details on my account so I ask this as to understand how Steam/Valve's lockout process works.
