Games won't launch when using shortcuts?

For some reason the last few days my games are not launching when I use shortcuts.

It just takes me to the steam store featured page.

I've tried just about everything to fix it and they won't launch via shortcuts.

The only way at the moment to get my games to launch is through my game library and then pressing play on the games.

Any help would be appreciated.

And I would prefer to not have to re install steam.

Make sure game is installed, Make sure that the command path the shortcut is taking you is to run the game, delete the shorcut make a new one by right clicking on the game in your library and add a shortcut.

I have tried all of those things and will no luck.

I've noticed now even when I even click on '' Screenshots'' ''Community''

Anything like that is leading me to the featured page of the store....
So it seems more like a steam problem and not a shortcut problem..

And I really don't want to reinstall, i'm not sure what to do at this point.

Deleting everything in the steam folder except steam.exe / steamapps seems to have fixed it.

And then restarting the pc and launching steam from the folder.

Hope this helps anyone in the future looking at this.
