Transferring Save Files and Achievements to Steam
I currently own the CD version of Dragon Age: Origins.

I see that Steam's Dragon Age Ulimate Edition is on sale for a couple bucks cheaper than the DLC I have not purchased yet (and I've had some issues with DLC for the CD version downloading correctly).

However, I do not want (at this time) to have to restart from scratch in terms of achievements and save files. Is it possible to import that data somehow?

Well, not possible.

Damn. Was hoping since both would be PC platforms, the save files would be compatible.

Save files, sure. Achievements not.

That's better than nothing. Sucks having to redo achievements, but at least I can have the same save files.

Would you know where I would find instructions for that? My googling led to either (a) questions about importing data into DA2 or (b) people looking to transfer their license to Steam from another platform.

Most likely, saves will be there no matter where you start the game from.

if the the game uses the my document folder it will work most other saves will be in the steam folder.(userdata and common)
some games use ridiculous locations
you can transfer the saves from your save folder into your steamapps folder by looking for the game folder in it, there usually isnt any issue transfering game saves
