How often do you get cards?

I probaly acting really dumb but how often do you get them is it like every 1-2 hours there is a 5% chance of getting a card or is it different per game? I am 2 away from getting a badge for L4D2 and want to get some doubles to sell for cash to buy new games with. Please tell me I would love to know

UPDATE: Thanks I now know they are common and can be found most times quite soon thx I've just starting playing terraria for about 30 mins but still don't have a card but hopefully I'll get lucky

actually it is pretty fast, i would say one card per around 30 minutes of playing, sometimes sooner, sometimes later
you can get 4 cards from playing l4d2, you have to trade/buy the rest
if you sell them or something, you wont get any more new cards

I played truck sim 2 for like 1 hour and got 4 cards :O :D

You can always just check the market if you are desperate for cards. There is a point where you just sort of stop getting cards.
