An error was encountered while processing your request:
Everytime I try and bring up the offer window when someone sends me a trade offer I get this error ...

Any way to fix this?

Yeap... same here. Can't trade today. Even if the offer is sent, the other party can't accept it.

I put a ticket in for help the other day and i just got this email and i followed the steps and everything works fine again .

Even though you may have attempted similar steps already, please re-test the issue now using the methods below:

Note: These processes will not affect your currently installed games.

If using a PC
- Please exit Steam, and navigate to the …\Steam\ directory (by default this is C:\Program Files\Steam - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).
- Delete all of the files in this folder except: Steam.exe and the \Steamapps\ and \Userdata\ folders
-Restart your computer and test the issue again.

If using a Mac:
-Exit Steam and go to the folder Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Steam
-Delete all of the files in this folder except for SteamApps and Userdata.
-Restart your computer and test the issue again.

For all operating systems:
-Ensure that you are not using any IP proxy or VPN software. These applications must be completely deactivated when purchasing through Steam.

If the issue still persists, try using a web browser (Internet Explorer 7 or higher on PC, or Safari if on a Mac) to

Has anyone else tried this and has it worked?
godslayer1975 Oct 3, 2014 @ 1:14pm
It has worked for me as i said i have had no problems yet and it is a known issue becuase that is from steam support and they new exactly how to fix it so just do it if you want it fixed and you dont lose any games or info . It is like clearing your cache thhats it . Put in a Ticket and you will get the exact same cookie cutter response because thats the fix.

Yeah, but I also just tried accepting a trade from my phone and got the same error message. Clearing the stuff on my PC and then having it work would mean it's a problem with my PC, but if it isn't working for my phone, then it must be Steam's issue right now.
