Windows 7 not asking for password after waking up from sleep.
Windows 7 is not asking for a password when I wake it up from Sleep Mode.
Please note, I already made sure the option for it to ask is checked within the control panel.
I know this isn't a Steam specific problem, but I looked everywhere for an answer, even Tom's Hardware and no one seems to know why this happens.
Thank you for your time in advance.

Make sure your computer is actually going to sleep, and not just turning on the monitor/display. This should be in the power management settings of the system.

Thank you, I'll try not to take offense to that answer.
Though, it is going to sleep. All the fans and lights on my thinking machine turn off when I press that one button that says Sleep on it.
Pfft.

I didn't mean it offensively. My laptop turns of its display before going to sleep. And while I cannot say 100% (cause I never really pay attention to it), I'm pretty sure that if I "wake" it up before it actually goes to sleep it doesn't ask me for a password.

Start > search: "change power" > change power-saving settings > pick the power plan you use and then press 'change plan settings' > advanced > require a password on wakeup > Yes > ok.

Before walking away from the PC...
Windows Key + L = Lock Screen

That is the best, quickest and most secure.

As for automatically doing it on sleepmode...
Control Panel > Power Options > Left bar there's an option 'Require a password on wakeup'. You got to make sure 'Change settings that are currently unavailable' is clicked first if showing, then link/pick your user account or create password for it. Ensure no guest accounts have access either, as that's a possible passwordless security risk to gain access, then hack into the main admin account. PC must be in full sleep for this to occur - check the timer options, under 'change plan settings' - Turns monitor off after a short time, then puts PC to sleep later on normally. There's a period of time where someone else can jump on before the PC is actually in sleepmode. Also, some applications such as download managers also prevent the PC from ending a full sleep - check third party software and even your BIOS for other sleep modes. Don't let them conflict.

Nothing worked, but will check the BIOS after next reboot.
