GTA IV Securom ERROR 2000?
So i just bought GTA IV Complete Edition on a sale on steam, but whenever i try to launch it it gives me a Securom 2000 error. I tried uninstall Windows Visual C++ 2005, but now when ever i try to install it again it gives me a "Error 1935. An error occured during the installation of assembly.'Microsoft.VC80.ATL.type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762"publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86"". Please refer to Help and Support for more information.". What do i do to fix this? i'm getting really mad now since i just spent money on something that doesn't even work... Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your hardware specs may be useful. At first glance, the file it is stumbling on is for a 32bit OS. you *may* have downloaded the wrong version. need more info.

My pc specs are the following:

GPU: Asus GTX 760 Directcu II

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 750K 3,4 Ghz

MOBO: ASRock FM2A88M Extreme 4+ mATX

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600mhz (2x4 GB)

HDD: 1 TB WD Blue 7200rpm

PSU: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze

OS: Windows Home Premium 64-Bit

Tell me if you need more info.

Do you happen to have any ITunes software installed? Remove it, you can always reinstall it later. remove anything related to ITunes at all.

Oh, and be absolutely certain you have downloaded the correct Version of Visual C++ for your OS.

I have no Itunes related stuff installed on my computer so it can't be that. Something else i can try? :(

I'm not really sure, it just says vcredist_86. And i also tried to install it from windows website but neither worked, if you could maybe give me a site to see if it works? or what else can i do?

go here and click download, select the file that ends in x64 and download it.

Ok, so i have tried to install every Microsoft Visual C++ 64 bit file but it's the same problem on all of them. I get that pesky error everytime i try to install them :( What should i do? Is there something i have to delete? i'm very mad i spent 6£ on something that doesn't even work... thanks for trying to help though, if there is something else i can try please let me know.

At this point I need to ask: Is your windows completely updated from microsoft updates website? Basically. I am asking if your automatic updates are set properly and have been done.

well, i personally would backup my data and format, reinstall the OS. I *might* be able to fix it if I hand my hands on it but...
